KARABUK UNIVERSITY LIBRARY AND DOCUMENTATION DEPARTMENT
We have a Kamil Güleç Library on the Central Iron and Steel Campus of our university and a total of 6 libraries, one at the School of Foreign Languages on the central campus, the others at Safranbolu Fethi Toker Fine Arts and Design Faculty, Yenice Vocational School, Eskipazar Vocational School and Eflani Vocational School. Our library moved to its new building on the Central campus on April 3, 2017, the 80th anniversary of Karabük and the 10th anniversary of our University, and the library building was built by the philanthropic businessman Kamil GÜLEÇ within the scope of 100% support to education.
The Central Kamil Güleç Library Building is 4.000 m² and has a remarkable feature with its climate-conditioned study and research areas, landscaped green areas and an art gallery, and its exterior facade showing the books on the shelves. Our library provides simultaneous online and offline research to more than 500 users.
Our library has 66,182 printed books, 2,062 printed theses, 125 printed journals, 38,323 e-journals, 28,413 e-books, 3,166.417 e-theses, 28 e-resource databases and millions of electronic resources. . At the same time, different technological products have been put into service in our library so that researchers and students can access information as soon as possible. These; Kioks devices that scan the entire catalog in seconds and a Self-Check machine that can be borrowed and returned without the help of any person. In addition, in order to provide students with access to books in a healthy environment, a sterilization device that purifies all bacteria from the books has been added to our library.
